What is the Bag Policy?

For everyone’s safety, security and enjoyment, we ask you to only bring small clutches, belt bags, fanny-packs or bags that are clear (i.e. see-through) to allow us to safely and efficiently properly screen and welcome fans into the event. All bags and hand-carried items will be subject to search and screened for prohibited items prior prior to allowing entry to the venue.

APPROVED BAGS:

  • Bags smaller than 6” x 9” (does not need to be clear)
  • Clear bag smaller than 12” x 6” x 12” (no bags larger than 12” x 6” x 12”)
  • 1-Gallon plastic freezer bag
  • Medically necessary bags
  • Hydration packs. Cannot have more than 2 main compartments and 1 smaller compartment. No metal or hard framing; must be soft-sided and squeezable. Bladder must be intact and useable, empty and open for inspection upon arrival

NOTE: Hydration packs are only permitted to enable guests to remain hydrated. They will not be permitted if the bladder is not intact and set up to be used for their intended purposes.

When and where is Chasing Summer Music Festival?

Chasing Summer is happening August 2 & 3 at Max Bell Centre Festival Grounds is located at 1001 Barlow Trail SE, Calgary. Please arrive early to ensure you do not miss your favourite performers. The main entrance is at the north end of the site. We encourage everyone to come by transit, taxi or ride share as there is limited parking in the area.

What is the minimum age to attend?

You must be at least 18 years of age and present valid primary & secondary ID with your tickets upon entry. See below for more details on IDs we accept.

What kind of ID do I need to get in?

Identification will be checked upon entry to the site by security at the Main Entrance. You’ll need a primary piece of government issued ID* with an approved secondary ID.**

Valid primary identification must:
Have a photo / have a name / have a signature / be government issued / include date of birth / not be expired / have a unique identifier number / be an original (not a photo on a phone or copy).

The following forms of identification will be accepted:

  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Alberta Operators License
  • Valid Passport
  • Valid Nexus Card or other Trusted Traveler Program Government Issued Photo Identification
  • Canadian Citizenship Card
  • Canadian Armed Forces Identification Card
  • Certificate of Indian Status Card
  • Permanent Resident Card

Acceptable forms of secondary ID:

Secondary identification must have the person’s name embossed on the card and their signature. The following forms of secondary identification will be accepted:

  • Credit card or bank card *Must have name imprinted, include signature, and not expired
  • Birth certificate
  • Baptismal certificate
  • Foreign government visa
  • Firearms license

The following forms of identification are NOT accepted:

  • Expired ID of any kind
  • Temporary paper ID
  • Photos of any ID
  • School Identification Cards

Is there seating available?

The venue is general admission standing room on mostly asphalt ground and some grass areas. Arrive early to get a good spot.

Chairs or stadium seating of any kind will not be permitted.

CAN I BRING A WATER BOTTLE INSIDE?

There will be free water stations on site for guests to fill their bottles. Water bottles cannot exceed 1 litre and must be soft-sided (squeezable). No glass & hard-sided bottles, including hard plastic, will be permitted.

Hydration packs are permitted – Cannot have more than 2 main compartments and 1 smaller compartment. No metal or hard framing; must be soft-sided and squeezable. Bladder must be intact and useable, empty and open for inspection upon arrival.

IS THERE FOOD AND DRINKS AVAILABLE?

A variety of food and beverage options will be available on site. Outside food and beverages are not permitted on site. Those with specific medical or dietary needs that cannot be met on site are required to bring any items in factory sealed containers (unopened from store purchase). Homemade or opened items will not be permitted.

Where is lost & found?

Lost and found is located at the Box Office by the Main Entrance on event days. Box Office hours are 1:30PM – 10:30PM. *Times are subject to change.

What is the camera policy?

Guests may use personal cameras and mobile phones to take photos inside the venue. Cameras with detachable lenses or zoom lenses 2 inches or greater are not permitted. Professional video cameras or video/audio recording devices are not permitted at the event.

Can I smoke/vape in the venue?

There is a designated smoking and cannabis consumption area inside the festival. More information about our cannabis policy can be found below.

What is your cannabis policy?

All persons entering the venue are subject to search of their person and property upon entry, as allowable by law. The venue will allow guests who are of legal age (18+) to bring Cannabis, THC and related derivatives permitted by law into the venue subject to the following conditions:

  • Cannabis, THC and related derivatives in infused foods, oils or candies commonly referred to as “edibles” MUST be in factory sealed packaging from a Provincially Approved and Regulated Supplier. Opened packages, homemade products or those where the supplier cannot be confirmed will not be allowed into the event.
  • The quantity of Cannabis, THC and related derivatives permitted shall be in accordance with local laws and regulations pertaining to possession and personal consumption.
  • Cannabis is for personal use only. The unregulated sale or gifting of cannabis to any other person is strictly prohibited.

Guests who are of legal age (18+) can only use and/or consume the above identified Cannabis, THC and related derivatives they have brought on site in the designated Cannabis consumption area; no liquor/alcohol is allowed in this designated consumption area.

Guests who are of legal age are also able to purchase these products from a Provincially Approved and Regulated Supplier and have them delivered to a dedicated area within the venue, located inside the designated Cannabis consumption area.

Use of and consumption of these products is subject to the following conditions:

  • Smoking and vaping of these products can only occur in the designated consumption area. Doing so outside the designated area may result in eviction from the venue.
  • Any guest who overuses or overconsumes any intoxicant is subject to eviction.
  • No guest can supply another person with these products. Doing so will result in eviction from the venue.
  • Security staff will evict any person who sells or purchases these products from another person inside the venue, with the exception of picking-up these items from a Provincially Approved and Regulated Supplier in the dedicated area for this.


Approved Container Types

All approved suppliers will adhere to the packaging requirements mandates by law. Packaging must include the following:

  • The standardized cannabis symbol
  • The brand name of the cannabis product
  • THC and CBD content
  • Health warning message
  • Other brand element
  • Other required information about the cannabis product
  • Non-required information about the cannabis product
  • Nutrition facts table
  • List of ingredients
  • Bar code

Cannabis can only be consumed in the designated cannabis consumption area. Please refer to the site map or ask festival staff for the designated location.

WHAT ARE THE ACCESSIBILITY SEATING OPTIONS?

A raised ADA area is available for any patrons requiring wheelchair or special seating considerations. The accessible seating option is available to ticketholders using wheelchairs, crutches, or who have any other physical disabilities or injuries that will necessitate a seat or raised view for the show.

Any ticketholder who has special seating requirements should email info@chasingsummerfestival.com with your ticket order confirmation number to request access to the accessible seating area. We recommend coordinating this in advance of the event. If needed, there will be a designated staff member available on site to provide some assistance. Accessible seating patrons who require an attendant are encouraged to purchase a ticket for their attendant and include mention of them in the email. There will be 1 attendant permitted per accessible seating patron in the designated seating area. Please note accessible seating is limited and will be provided on a first come, first serve basis until the ADA area is at capacity.
